Every business is built on a story

Sputnik is a PR agency. We tell stories people can believe in.

Sputnik is a public relations agency. We're expert at telling stories using the full range of PR tools - editorial media, social media, sponsorship, video, events, brand experience campaigns, media training, stakeholder outreach and almost everything in between.

All business is built on storytelling and every business's most important asset is a genuine story people can believe in. Tell your story poorly and you won’t be yesterday’s news - you won’t even make the news. Tell it well and you’ll differentiate your brand, connect with your audiences and generate action that drives your business forward.

Sophie Speer
Account Manager

Arriving at Sputnik after five years as a newspaper journalist, most recently for the Dominion Post, Sophie has a nose for the ingredients of a great news story. Her love of crafting and telling a story has made the transition to the other side of the communications fence a natural one. It’s a move made easier by Sophie’s creative spark, a love of food, and the arts - all of which Sophie is working on at Sputnik - and a desire to help shape a narrative before it lands on a news desk.

Thinking

Freshly juiced insight.

Communication without thinking is just noise.  At Sputnik we're always searching for the critical insights that will lift a communications programme from mundane to exceptional.

We start with our unique understanding of audiences and what motivates them. We add to that an in-depth understanding of each client's business challenge - their place within their industry and the opportunities that presents.

Where necessary, we undertake additional research to understand what audiences and stakeholders are really thinking. The result is communications programmes based on genuine insights - into your brand, company, industry, stakeholders, competitors and consumers - and fresh ideas that resonate with you and your audiences.

8 Tribes

The world is a restless place. Audiences are constantly evolving and cannot be defined by a single generic set of values and attitudes. 8 Tribes: The hidden classes of New Zealand  is a values-based analysis of our society that was co-authored by Sputnik's Christopher Brown.

Write your manifesto

People who break conventions and push boundaries should be known for being exactly what they are - trailblazers, inventors and visionaries. Sometimes their thinking deserves to be shared. But first it must be systematised.

Content creation

In a world of rapidly multiplying channels and fragmenting audiences, it can seem like everyone is telling your brand story but no-one's getting it quite right. That's when it's time to create content that tells your story in your voice.
